I had a great day today! It started with a yoga class with William. He surprised us with a Mysore practice... I got some great feedback which was very helpful.
I was thrilled to have my husband join my class tonight! He did great and looked great in his Zubaz! I got a few swings and snatched in with my class.
After class I just had to try a TGU with the 28kg... I have been wanting to try it for a while, and seeing Nikki Shlosser nail the 32kg, well I just had to give it a shot. I have to say the most difficult part of the whole movement is the size of the kettlebell. It was almost unwieldy... any way here is a something for your viewing pleasure....
~28kgs TGU...
Here is how my bench workout went down with Maura Shuttleworth; bench press champion...
Bench Press
85lbsX 3 reps X 8 sets
Pull-ups
5X5
Chest Supported Rows
45lbsX8X3
Triceps Press Downs
20X10
30X10
40X5
30X5
This was a difficult one to stay on task tonight... Maura loves to bench, so she kept me reigned in. LOL!
Snatch Update
16kg
12/12 X3 = 144 Points

Great stuff! Plus, you make even that freakin' squat style look so easy :)
Hey Gabi! I am a squatter... it is the glory of short legs! I'm just trying to keep up with the other ladies.
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice work Fawn! You made it look pretty easy.
impressive. but not as impressive as your no. 2 showing at the TSC!
congratulations!!
are you and aaron training friday night? is the weather nice enough to move the friday night party outdoors?
Nikki, thanks for the inspiration! I will have to work my way up to 32kgs...
Joe,
It actually wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be... a TGU at 1/2 my body weight is daunting! LOL!
Sean,
For now I have to say where there is a deadlift platform... I am going to train for Raw Nationals in July and I have to get a respectable number on that deadlift. We may end up doing a Sunday night outside kettlebell thing... I'm not sure what yet.
awesome!! woo hoo, that is just amazing. you strong!
Fawn, that is excellent. Had to make sure I saw what I saw as you squatted out of the get-up!
Thanks Rif! It is always nice to hear praise from my coach!
Katie... as another yoga driven kettlebeller, you know it is Malasana that makes the squat style the way to go! Thanks for looking at my blog!
Fawn....good Lord! When I got home last night Mark told me about this, and I just thought....What's next? I can barely deadlift that weight off of the ground! Aaron must be beside himself proud!
Tracy,
This is a case of flexibility over strength... I have always been pretty good at TGU's. Too bad for me there isn't a TGU race! LOL!
Still remains a mystery, where do you absorb that load? I've seen your picture with 24kg pistol, snatch etc.
Man, I'm just a little boy after all.
Fawn-Flexibility over strength? Noo...strawng. Malasana-yikes my torso is not so mobile at the moment but the squat is there. Hopefully with the spring thaw. I see your William is having a yoga get go in Tofte at one of my top favorite places ever-Cobblestone Cabins. I was at Jan and Kathy's to XC ski years ago and it holds a very special place in my heart. If I arrive early enough to RKC II I will pop in to William's perhaps.

Taikei,
I am like a little tree... bendy and thick!
Katie,
You know I would be more than happy to bring you to a class with William... he has been a huge inspiration in my life! Plus he is simply a top notch teacher!
Aaron and I are hosting a BBQ the Friday night of the RKC 2. We are inviting all the folks from blogosphere. Taikei will be here... you will have to join us!
WOW! I am always the last to know about these things. Great job! It looked like you are were having fun as well which is the important thing.
Lauren,
I was just looking at your blog... what an awesome vacation! Your little girl is so cute! I hope we can meet in person this summer!
Too bad we can't set up a deadlift platform outdoors!!
Maura
Fawn,
I can tell from your writings that your William is a great teacher. It would be an honor to join you in a class. Constantly teaching, as I am, leaves me in definite need of a recharge.
BBQ? I'm there! Special beverage from Kentucky will be my contribution.
