The Mini Titans

Maura Shuttleworth, Me, Cheryl Anderson

Maura Shuttleworth is my regular training partner and National Bench Press Champion for the past 6 years! Maura captured the State Record in Bench Press this weekend with a 190lb press at 114lbs. Maura is invited to the Arnold Sports Festival along with me and she took second in the Women's Geared Division.

Cheryl Anderson trains regularly at The Press Gym and is a two time National Champion. Cheryl set a new State Record in the Deadlift this weekend with a 335lb pull at 105. Cheryl took first place in the Women's Geared Division.

I set a new State and American record in the Raw Division with a 240lb squat in the 123lb class. I also took First Place in the Women's Raw Division!

Maura, Cheryl and I were lucky enough to be featured in a You Tube video made by Mike Seigler jr. Here is a condensed version of the Hudson Natural Open and how it all went down for the three of us ...

I do believe you represent balance in the finest manner. My hat is off to you, young lady. Beyond the weight pulled and the raw total, what impresses me is that you seem to knock this stuff down quietly. Do you have fans making noise for you? One right here.

Strength through healing,

Fawn,

Awesome job and huge congratulations! You smashed the hell outta the 280 pull! I'm very impressed with your sumo technique and groove! I know how you feel being gassed on the 3rd DL attempt. You'll get em next time! Again, phenomenal job!

Take care and stay strong!
Jason

Big fan here, too. Nice job, honey. That 280 pull was the best I've seen, and the 240 squat was solid.

When you teach classes, you also participate in them, so it's remarkable that you've got the energy to put in competition days like this.

I expect a lot of powerlifters sit on the couch between training sessions, and that's not such a good thing.

Being a proponent of fitness and natural movement who walks the talk and also competes at a high level in strength events is really something to be admired.

Maura,
My training partner and mentor... I have learned so much from you, more than you will ever know. You are the perfect training partner... Thank you for everything!

Didn't Sieganator Jr. do a nice job on the video?!

Jennifer,
Thanks! I had so much fun! We could have used a couple TN rednecks in the crowd...

Gabi,
Thank you! I am lucky to have not one, but TWO awesome women lifters who train at my gym!

Fawn "SPAWN" Friday !!

The video clip is awesome.
I'm scared to watch what's going to happen next year.

Taikei,
I can't say I like being called Spawn... but there is a story behind it, I will have to tell you some time.

Fawn and Maura, you guys were simply awesome to lift with -- inspirational and supportive -- not to mention a ton of fun! Thanks for everything. As I said before, Fawn, you have no business playing with 290 when I know you really have a 300 pull (I am talking about your potential as of today...not later down the road, LOL) based on how your 280 shot up. You have made light-years of progress ahead of most newbies in this sport. What we never stop learning is conquering the battlefield of the mind. In PL, your mental approach can make or break a lift, as we all find out and still work on. Keep it up, strong ladies. See you at The Press!

Thanks Fawn. That is a great video!

Cheryl,
I am going to be looking for your blog... Thanks again for all your support. You are a great lifter and I think it is so cool we train at the same gym!

Maura,
I can't wait to start training again!

David,
That's right I am turning into a regular Beef Cake. LOL!

Sean,
I can't wait to get back to our Friday Night Deadlift Parties! Thanks for the kind words.

Nikki,
Thanks! The meet was awesome! Competition doesn't come naturally to be, but it is making me a better person for it.
